Great Place to Work is the global authority on building, sustaining, and recognizing high-trust and high-performing workplace cultures. Villa received the distinction, for the second year, based upon the results of more than 2,800 employee surveys from across all locations. Employees were asked to anonymously share their views on aspects such as pride in the organization, communication impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling that their work has special meaning.
“We view employee satisfaction as a precursor to excellent patient care and have seen how this makes everyone better,” commented Villa’s CEO Mark Berger. “We are proud and honored to earn our second Great Place to Work certification.”
Employee’s anonymous responses, which have not been edited, highlight why Villa is “a great place to work” through their employee-centric programs:
- The “BETTER” service excellence program communicates the company’s shared standards of working together on behalf of the patients.
- from day one, employees are welcome with open arms and a lunch with you direct manager, just to get to know each other on a one and one basis.
- Villa thinks outside of the average parameters of skilled nursing …They research any way they can help all people, whether it be a patient, family or employee. There are often new ideas of ways to make us BETTER as a company by making people BETTER.
- I love my management/administration, co-workers, staff, and residents! It’s the first job where I can actually say “I love to come to work no matter how stressful my day can be at times!”
- Villa’s actions reflect their stated intentions. Villa is not an employer that simply says all of the right things, but does not act consistently with its stated priorities and values. Villa lives its values, and responds to the questions, concerns and praise received from its employees.
- Why Villa, an annual essay contest which asks employees why they have chosen to work at Villa and provides financial rewards based on tenure.
- Yes, they actually CARE about PEOPLE. I look forward coming to work every day understanding the type of benefits come from my work in making people BETTER. I look forward to seeing my co-workers and having lunch or a friendly conversation. I’ve never felt so at HOME at WORK, ever in my 25+ years work experience.
- Our work is hard, almost always. But Villa is truly committed to making it fun, making people feel appreciated, and helping everyone understand that we work hard to make people BETTER. They do things I’ve never seen another health care company do, from giving leaders creative freedom to incentivize great work to essay contests to creating a position (PEDs) to support employees. They support innovation and creativity where I’ve seen other companies stifle that.
- V Awards, a peer-nominated recognition for employees that go above-and-beyond in their department.
- They truly show appreciation for their employees by giving out awards and recognition across the board! There is recognition in the facility and in the corporate work place.
- Very employee driven and huge on staff recognition
- Culture Committees in each location, which focus on ways of keeping employee morale high, as well as plan team-building events and activities.
- the little activities they have for us every month makes the job fun. you look forward to coming into work everyday because of that and because of the co workers.
- In the short time I’ve been here I truly believe that Villa cares about it’s guests and employees. They have a continuous mission to make everyone feel welcome and correct any issues along the way toward that goal.
- Upon my entry into the company I was made to feel like a family member. That is what I most appreciated about the opportunity for employment and the team support in all areas of positions. I learned very fast of what was expected of me do to my teams support.
- A “Team Member of the Month” program in each facility to recognize and celebrate employees.
- They truly show appreciation for their employees by giving out awards and recognition across the board! There is recognition in the facility and in the corporate work place.
- Being acknowledged by upper management
