When choosing a trail mix, many grocers now offer an isle where you can build your own custom trail mixes. These are great, but make sure the ingredients don’t look stale and are in a well-sealed chamber. Watch out for added sugars and sodium when shopping for a healthy trail mix.

Greek Yogurt Parfaits

Greek yogurt is high in protein, with an average of 20 grams per cup. There is no right or wrong way to make a parfait, but be mindful of the sugar content of the granola you select and the fruit you choose to include. You can layer yogurt, berries and granola in a glass jar for a beautiful visual effect, or grab a portable parfait from the dairy isle at your favorite grocer. Personally, I love my parfaits chilled. The colder the better. Try setting your parfait in the freezer for 15 minutes. Yum.

Hummus is nutrient rich and filling, making it an ideal snack when you need a quick energy boost. Enjoy the dip with carrots or celery sticks, and be mindful of the recommended serving size, to make the snack a healthy treat.
